Last week, the annual Hurst Prep School Athletics meetings took place and were held at the K2 Crawley for the first time. With a recent return of school fixtures, both the girls’ and boys’ events had a fantastic atmosphere.
Thirteen schools competed at the girls’ meet on Wednesday with some excellent athletic talent on display. Burgess Hill Girls (Senior winners, Years 7-8) topped the overall leader board as deserved winners, ahead of Ardingly in second, closely followed by Hurst (Junior winners, Years 4-6) in third.
Nine schools attended the boy’s event on Friday, with some outstanding athleticism and competition in both track and field events. A well contested battle between Ardingly (Senior winners, Years 7-8) and Windlesham (Junior winners, Years 4-6) concluded with Ardingly lifting the overall trophy, as Hurst, once again, finished in a respectable third place.
“ After a challenging year for all school sport and the inevitable cancellation of these events last year, it was a pleasure to host all attending schools and we look forward to hosting again next year! ” Kristina Money, Head of Prep School Girls Sport
