Glorious weather greeted 12 teams from eight schools who descended on Hurst for the annual U11 six-a-side cricket tournament on Wednesday.
Sunscreen, caps and water were aplenty as the teams battled it out through group and knockout stages. There were certainly some stars of the future on display as the boys adjusted well to a shortened format of the game.
The eventual winners of the cup were Lancing College. Ardingly College triumphed in the plate competition and Westbourne House were victorious in the bowl.
“ A great time was had by all, and it was an absolute pleasure to host after such a long hiatus of tournaments in school sport ” Ben Dewey, Head of Boys’ Sport (Prep).
