Last week, over 80 Pre-Prep and Prep School pupils took part in an afternoon of dance in the New Bury Theatre.
The theme this year was Dancing through the decades with each class performing a dance ranging from the 1920’s right through to 2021. Reception were sent back in time to the 1920’s and in a flurry of fast feet and swaying arms, performed the Charleston. Year 1 went fast forward to the 1950’s, performing an energetic rock and roll routine to Rock around the Clock. Next stop, the Year 2 class arrived in the glitzy and glamorous 1970’s, dancing to the hit Saturday night fever. The ballerinas performed a selection of set exercises and dances from the Royal Academy of Dance examination syllabus to demonstrate the progression through the grades from Pre-Primary to Grade 3.
“ A huge well done to all the pupils, they worked so hard and performed brilliantly. I am so pleased that despite the circumstances, our children had an opportunity to perform this year. Thank you to all the staff and parents for their continued support with this wonderful event ” Carla Dilley, Head of Pre-Prep PE/Teacher of Dance
