This week, as the College returns to a more normal routine, the Music department held their first concert with a live audience, since February 2020.
As part of the Hurst Festival, the College hosted a large audience from the local community who were keen to support the live event. The concert saw performances by music scholars playing a vast variety of instruments and musical styles. There was particularly fine playing and singing from Upper Sixth music scholars – including Chloe A, performing a piece by Poulenc on the flute and Ellie B, who tackled a tricky piece by Handel on the recorder.
It was great to see so many pupils, from Year 7 to Upper Sixth, keen to perform, especially the new pupils who joined the school at the start of the new academic year, just two weeks prior to the concert.
