To celebrate European Day of Languages on September 26th the Modern Foreign Languages department and the Diversity and Inclusion platform joined forces to celebrate the diversity of languages spoken at Hurst by staff and students.
The events which ran across the week, included a range of video entries creating a montage of reasons explaining why speaking multiple languages is not only enriching but very rewarding. Foreign language films were screened in the lecture theatre on some evenings, and Shell and Remove pupils completed a language quiz devised by Head of French, Grace Butler. It was fantastic to see so much variety and culture shared in the Hurst community.
Overall it was a great chance to showcase the inclusivity that comes with speaking other languages – helping you connect with so many more people.
