Year 3 pupils make gift tags, paint canvases and craft bowls for charity
Year 3 pupils held a charity coffee morning and craft fair last Friday in aid of Hope House Haiti and Cameron’s Orphanage Project.
The children made some lovely Christmas gift tags, painted canvases, crafted bowls and also brought in second-hand toys to sell to parents. They also sold second-hand Christmas jumpers, in preparation for Christmas Jumper Day at the end of term, in an effort to reuse, recycle and to help them learn about social responsibility. Pupils practised their maths skills as they added up prices and gave change. There were also plenty of entertaining games to play – the most popular involved smashing an egg with a wooden spoon to win the prize inside!
At the end of the morning, they had raised almost £600 to share between two of their favourite charities – Hope House Haiti and Cameron’s Orphanage Project.
