U14 boys enjoy Harlequins rugby fixture at home ground
For the third time in three years the U14 age group attended a rugby fixture at the Stoop in Twickenham to watch the Harlequins.
This year they attended a Gallagher premiership game between Quins and Gloucester with more than 60 staff, students and parents in attendance. As part of their first term of Senior School rugby, this was an ideal opportunity for the U14s to watch a professional game and it was clear that they all enjoyed the occasion.
Initially, our students were invited to form the guard of honour for the players, but due to sponsorship rules this was not possible. However, our U14s were invited onto the pitch at half time for a photograph with the Harlequins team.
The game was highly entertaining, one which ebbed and flowed, and in the initial stages Gloucester looked to be the likely winners. The second half saw a resurgent Harlequins take control and to the delight of the home crowd (including Hurst supporters) claimed a hard-fought win 23-19.
“It was good to see a number of Sussex players in the Harlequins squad, including Ross Chisholm, Marcus Smith and Joe Marler,” Rob Kift, Director of Sport.
