Welcome to the Senior Prep School

Welcome to our Senior Prep School at Hurst College.

The Senior Prep focuses on pupils in Years 7 and 8, as they prepare to move up to the Senior School. Many of our pupils move up from Hurst’s Junior Prep School at 11+, whilst an equal number join us from any many as 20 local schools. At whichever stage pupils join us there is a dedicated network of teachers, tutors and support staff whose priority is making everyone feel safe, welcome and a sense of belonging before helping them fulfil their potential; in the classroom and beyond.

A broad and balanced curriculum is delivered at all ages by outstanding, enthusiastic, subject-specific teachers who ensure that all pupils are consistently engaged through high challenge and high support environment. Senior Prep pupils’ timetables are alike those in the Senior School, to enable an easier transition as they progress into the Senior School where the cohort diversifies and grows further.

Senior Prep pupils are encouraged to take on leadership including Prefects, Guardians and House Captains to support children in the Junior Prep. The wealth of co-curricular opportunities is second to none which enhances learning and provides pupils with activities such as climbing or ski racing, they continue to enjoy beyond their school years.
