Earlier this month, Reception pupils had their first ever school trip to Wakehurst Place for the Green Fairy experience.
Their trip began with a very exciting ride on the Hurst minibuses, for the very first time. The Green Fairy took the pupils around Wakehurst looking for signs of Autumn – which they had been learning about in class and the Woodland School. They found many interesting Autumn items, such as helicopter seeds and dragons feet, which they made to make crowns, magic wands and transient art. Using their magic wands they made the Green Fairy shrink so that she could fly and stand on Mrs Llewelyn-Slades’ hand.
The Green Fairy then wrote a letter to the Woodland School asking for the children to help with new fairy houses – which they duly provided – She also asked the children to find out the best way to look after their teeth to help the Tooth Fairy – they have worked on in class.
