During the month of November at Hurst, you would have to think twice and remind yourself it is not Christmas. Hits by ‘Wizzard, Mariah Carey and Cliff Richard’ can be heard from every tutor room blasting from the laptops of students. This is because the students in the Senior School have been ‘packing and wrapping’ their Christmas Shoebox donations. Boxes were jammed packed full of gifts brought in from homes and shops. The boxes will be collected by the Charity FSCI, who for the past 3 years have shipped off boxes to children across Eastern Europe. A wonderful charity moment for Hurst and everyone involved.
This year we have had a record-breaking year of Christmas shoeboxes collected at an astonishing 383, smashing last year’s record of 252!
