Year 5 had a fantastic three-day, two-night stay at Bowles. The children participated in a wide range of activities including skiing, rock climbing, archery, kayaking and various team activities including a fabulous campfire and an impromptu dance-off. Many pupils had not attempted some of the activities before and despite this, their attitude was fantastic.
All pupils gave everything a go and never gave up, reflecting the resilience that we often see in the classroom. The children were also so supportive of one another, which was even commented on by the Bowles staff. In every activity, you could hear pupils calling out supportive commentary and guidance to help others. This trip has enabled Year 5 to return as a closer cohort, and certainly with some new skills.
Not only do the children have a fun-filled few days, but this residential trip also prepares the pupils for the Year 6 trip to Devon which is a whole week of team-building activities.
“ The staff who went to Bowles were incredibly proud of how the pupils behaved and more importantly, how they looked after and encouraged each other. ” Ffion Eade, Prep School Teacher
