Betty’s Junior and Senior Prep students teamed up on Thursday 27th April to raise money for two charities, Joshua in Malawi and Clic-Sargent (Young Lives vs Cancer). Both charities are close to the hearts of Hurst and Head of Betty’s House, Kate Parker.
Joshua in Malawi is a charity visited by our Sixth Form students which supports orphans, vulnerable children, and their communities. The area was badly affected by the cyclone in March and has now set up an emergency appeal. Clic-Sargent, also known as Young Lives vs Cancer, is a charity that provided incredible and very special support to Mrs Parker’s family when her son had leukaemia as a baby.
The students pulled together to organise stalls, games and to sell cakes and doughnuts at break time. Betty’s House raised an incredible £913 for both charities.
“ Many thanks to all in Betty’s, to their friends who supported them and to the many parents who again provided the bric a brac and sweet treats! ” Kate Parker, Head of Betty’s House
