Eight students set off on a weekend of sailing days, starting from Portsmouth and Southampton, and finishing in Portsmouth Harbour with lunch on both days anchored off Cowes.
Saturday proved a beautiful sail as the 36’ yacht ploughed through the waves at 8 or 9 knots. Despite there not being a lot of wind on Sunday, they all enjoyed the sunshine with some braving the cold and having a swim before lunch!
They also had a chance to see the aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales and the destroyer HMS Dauntless in Portsmouth and learn a little about Royal Navy history.
The crew for the weekend included Lucas G, Joel B, Freddie G, George O-E, Henry L, Minnie R, Harry N and Jude S.
“ It was the fabulous weather that made these trips such a success. ” Simon Poole
