On March 23 Hurst students headed to Coombelands Equestrian, where a National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) competition was being held. The show included qualifiers for the Royal Windsor Horse Show, Hickstead Elite, and the National Championships.
In the 70cm class Hurst riders did very well, winning the class as a team and qualifying for the National Championship. Well done to Izzy A, Darcy G, Rosie YJ, and Rosie C. Rosie YJ also came 3rd individually and Darcy 4th, which qualifies them both for the Championships as individuals.
Next was the turn of the 80cm riders, with Hurst putting forward three teams. Hurst Pink, consisting of riders Rosie, Rosie YJ, and Harriet B finished in 2nd place, qualifying them for the Championships. Teams Hurst Blue and Green also did well, but just finished short of the qualifying spots. Izzy A also finished in 4th position individually, qualifying her for the National Championships.
The 90cm class doubled as a qualifier for the Royal Windsor Horse Show and was hotly contested. Team Hurst Green finished on zero faults, but just missed out on qualifying coming in 5th position. Lauren W rode a very quick clear round with her pony, coming 2nd and qualifying as an induvial for the National Championships.
Hurst put forward two teams for the 1m class and did exceptionally well, with the teams coming 1st and 2nd. Well done to Olivia S, Ralf B, Harriet B, and Lauren W who took the top spot. Both teams qualified for the National Championships, and Hickstead Elite. Emma P and Ralf B finished 3rd and 4th respectively as individuals, qualifying them for the Championships.
The final class of the day was the 1.10m individual competition, Hurst riders did spectacularly well here, taking all the horse qualifications on offer! Lauren W won the class and Ralf B came 2nd, both qualifying for the National Championships and Hickstead Elite. Emma P then came 3rd and Luca C 4th, which qualified both for the Championships.
