As part of the PSHCE programme, Hurst Prep and Pre-Prep were visited by representatives from the NSPCC last Thursday, who delivered assemblies to pupils from Reception to Year 6 about staying safe and saying ‘no’.
Year 5 and 6 took part in additional workshops as part of the Speak Out. Stay Safe. programme which is delivered to all schools nationally. Pupils in the Pre-Prep, who have been learning about their bodies, have created some colourful displays of PANTS to coincide with their learning about personal safety. Miss Dilley has been teaching the Pre-Prep children the Pantasaurus song and dance as part of their PE lessons.
More information can be found at www.nspcc.org.uk/pants where there are resources for parents to support conversations with young children about personal safety.
