Today, our Upper Sixth leavers finally received their hard-earned A-level results at the end of a challenging and uncertain few months. A strong, close-knit, and hugely talented year group, they have shown great resilience as public exams were cancelled and their summer plans shelved. Now, having secured yet another strong set of A-level grades, this cohort of Hurst Old Johnians can prepare for life beyond the college, which for most students is a confirmed place at their chosen university.
Special arrangements were put in place to allow our students to return to the campus today, in small groups, for the first time in months in order to open their envelopes, celebrate each other’s success and gain specialist advice from their teachers. As always, the college has been supporting students with their university and gap year plans to ensure that every single leaver has mapped out the right pathway for them.
“ How lovely it has been to see so many of our leavers here today (socially distanced, of course!) after such a long absence. We wish them every success as they move on to the next stage of their journey, but they will all remain lifelong members of the Hurst community and we hope to see them return soon in more settled times to celebrate their hard work and talent ” Tim Manly, Headmaster
