A Trip to Fishbourne Roman Palace
Year 4 had a brilliant day visiting Fishbourne Roman Palace. Students were given the opportunity to identify various Roman artefacts and discover what we could learn about the Romans from them. There was also a variety of Roman games that the students could play. During the workshop, the students assigned as ‘slaves’ were tasked with making a delicious roast that the students assigned as rich noblemen and women could enjoy.
In the afternoon, Year 4 visited the gardens and herb garden and were given an insight into the magnitude of Fishbourne Palace. Afterward, the students visited the remains of the mosaics and identified key features such as the hippocaust.
