A visit from Anne-Marie Trevelyan MP
Last week Year 5 and 6 had a visit from the Right Honourable Anne-Marie Trevelyan MP who spoke about the importance of democracy and what her job involves.
This visit was part of the Year 5 curriculum as they have been learning about government, democracy, and the Suffragettes this term.
Anne-Marie spoke about the voting system in Parliament as well as what work is done in her constituency. She also discussed the different roles she has held in government and the difference between working in Parliament as an MP and working in government as a Minister/Secretary of State.
“ The pupils asked some fantastic questions and learnt about what it is like to be a woman in politics. ” Emily Trevelyan, Junior Prep School Teacher
