Hurst was fortunate enough to have Jude Guaitamacchi visit and host a talk to discuss all things equity, diversity, and inclusion. Jude gave a brief introduction about themselves and their experiences. Our Shell pupils engaged well with their story and their journey to identifying themselves as non-binary. Jude also discussed the importance of allies and that all have the responsibility to celebrate diversity.
The second half of the talk focused on education, the breaking down of LGBTQ+ terminology, identities within and busting taboos. Our students asked many great questions and demonstrated strong engagement with themes.
