This year’s Academic Dance Sharing: Best Foot Forward presented the work of the Fifth Form GCSE and a guest appearance from the LVI A Level Dancers. The process and craft of choreography can be a long and arduous journey, but the dancers demonstrated extreme resilience in the face of such a challenge and as a result have created pieces that are original and interesting, responding to such stimuli as Frozen Water; Sleep; An Image of a Face and Something You Sit On!
Performing these pieces live to friends, families and staff is an important moment for the students to celebrate all of their hard work and to stand back and be proud of the progress made over the course of the two years. The students were supported by their dancers, not all of whom study GCSE, and who dedicate their own personal time to being involved and for rehearsals.
All dancers did exceptionally well and it was brilliant to see them all showcase their skills and help prepare for their final moderation.
“ We wish the GCSE dancers every success with their final moderation, which judging by the quality of pieces and high standard of performance skills demonstrated at the Sharing, have every reason to believe they will do well. ” Nicola Dominy, Head of Dance
