The careers department has organised a series of profession speed talks during the first half of the Michaelmas term.
Students were able to directly engage with working professionals from a variety of careers. The events were hosted online meaning there is no upper limit on attendance and the hosts were able to join from wherever they were based around the UK – and further afield, such as New York and Dubai.
The talks lasted an hour with up to four hosts joining the call to share their career synopsis, routes of entry and insight into their profession. This was followed by questions from the students. Talks are recorded and placed on the Careers Platform along with the hosts’ contact details should any student wish to contact them at a later date. Most of our hosts take on the Profession Ambassador role where they represent their profession by offering one-to-one guidance to any student who is interested in finding out more.
“ We are so grateful to those parents and alumni who have supported our programme of events this term. ” Tania Fielden, Careers Adviser
