On Friday 5th May, the Junior Prep School enjoyed a special morning of activities to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III. Flags, bunting and balloons greeted everyone as they arrived at school, all wearing patriotic red, white and blue coloured clothes. The life-size cardboard cutout of the King in the foyer was a particular favourite with the children!
Each pupil designed a ceramic plate with a royal theme as well as making their own Union Jack flags and crowns. Dr Blokland led a special service in the Chapel which included a reenactment of the coronation as well as prayers for the new King written by the children. Our morning culminated with all the Junior Prep School pupils enjoying a royal picnic just as the sun decided to shine.
As a special reminder, each pupil was presented with a commemorative coin as a keepsake to mark the occasion.
