Over the years, what was previously The House Shout and Talent Contest has become the JPS Creative Arts Festival. Each House learns a song and, for the first time, Reception to Year 2 joined Years 3-6. In addition, each House holds auditions for acts in the Creative Arts and puts forward three acts for the festival.
The New Bury Theatre hosted a very excited audience of JPS students and teachers and we were not disappointed. The Disney songs (from Moana and The Little Mermaid) were brilliant, with various props adding to the spectacle. Then came the acts – solos, duets and group pieces, which ranged from ‘Baby Shark’ complete with blow-up sharks to trumpet solos and stunning dance and singing performances. Those who performed must be congratulated on being so brave in front of peers; many for the first time. It was a magnificent, uplifting morning which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
