All 166 Remove students embarked on a mixed package of activities and expedition training for their silver DofE Award.
Micro navigation and a short trekking assessment were the order on the first day, followed by night camping in Ashdown Forest. On the final day students completed a 15+Km walk carrying rucksacks loaded full with food, tents and clothes. There were the inevitable navigation embarrassments for some, but all groups completed the trek successfully, and many are now looking forward to an assessment next year.
“ These activities were designed to prepare Remove students for their Silver DofE expedition assessments next year in the Fifth Form next year ” Fred Simkins, Director of Outdoor Education
