During the Easter break, Year 11 students took part on their silver Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) award expedition practice and Lower Sixth formers completed their silver award assessment.
Y11 students in Phoenix, Crescent and Chevron put together teams of 4-7 for their practice. The weather was kind and their routes around the local Sussex countryside proved challenging enough to be enjoyable.
Four groups of well-prepared Lower Sixth formers were able to complete their assessments. The sun shone brightly for the three days and with a couple of adjustments to their route the groups kept to their timings.
“ Camping for each event was on-site, in a quiet corner of the school grounds. All in all, a very successful five days for our DofE candidates ” Fred Simkins, Director of Outdoor Education
