Hurst was delighted to host the girls U11 IAPs regional hockey qualifiers as 19 schools competed in a thrilling battle for a place in the National Finals. With four preliminary pools in place, all the schools played four or five matches before being placed in the cup or plate competition.
Hurst had a very strong start and finished top of their group on goal difference. This placed our team in the cup competition and in with a chance of qualifying for IAPs National Finals. There was some exceptional hockey on show, particularly in the semi-finals and finals. Hurst showed signs of fatigue and despite digging in deep and playing some great hockey, were defeated at the last hurdle. The girls finished fourth overall, narrowly missing out on a place in the National Finals.
