Hurst Unplugged is the first rock and pop event of the academic year to take place. The event that took place in the music school featured bands and soloists from across the senior school and sixth form performing music by a variety of artists from the Eagles to Bruno Mars.
The performance opened with Daisy B singing ‘She Used to be Mine’ by Jessie Mueller before Izzy G sang ‘Wings’ by Birdy and ‘Enchanted’ by Taylor Swift.
Next, the Shell Band performed ‘Hotel California’ by the Eagles followed by Lexi L singing ‘If I Die Young’ by Fleetwood Mac.
Millie W then performed ‘When I Was Your Man’ by Bruno Mars, and Jem D was the final soloist playing guitar and singing ‘Grenade’ by Bruno Mars.
The penultimate act were the Fifth form band, who performed ‘She’s So Lovely’ by Scouting for Girls, ‘No Surprises’ by Radiohead and’ Everybody’s Changing’ by Keane.
Closing the evening’s performances were the Upper 6th Band, who played ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’ by Oasis, ‘She Will Be Loved’ by Maroon 5 and ‘Love Story’ by Taylor Swift.
It was great to see such a turnout of supporting family, friends and staff who thoroughly enjoyed an entertaining evening of excellent performances.
