The annual Hurst ‘Heroes’ Fun Run, in aid of Hope House Haiti and Hope Christian Academy, took place on Friday 9th June.
Set to be a scorcher, the day offered sunshine and smiles a-plenty. Pupils and staff from Reception -Year 6 wore costumes, sunhats and suncream to take to the fields and run, or walk, the course which had been set by our fabulous sports department.
A wide variety of heroes, favourite sportspeople, and well-known film and book characters donned their trainers and put their best foot forward.
We were delighted to have the Treasurer of Hope House Haiti join us for the event and, even more excitingly, he will be visiting us again on 26th June, bringing Yvrose with him to meet the children at their Junior Prep School picnic and explain how their money will be spent…
Yvrose set up Hope Christian Academy and orphanage with her husband and they have been providing schooling, meals, and shelter since 2010. For the first time, in 2022, 8 graduates of Hope Christian Academy passed their exams to attend University on a full scholarship and 6 more have been successful this year.
We are looking forward to welcoming Yvrose later this month and will update you with more news then.
