Make do and mend
As part of Children’s Mental Health Week, the Prep School collected all sorts of old clothes and fabric to repurpose in their Make Do and Mend for Mindfulness project. Pupils brought in everything from old coats to curtains, clothes they had grown out of, odd socks and craft scraps.
At lunchtimes, pupils of all ages learnt how to make a pet from an old sock, carefully embroidering features and sewing on button eyes. Years 3 pupils made fabric wreaths which were truly stunning when completed and they also turned jean legs into owl door stops after designing felt faces and filling them with rice.
