The last concert of the academic year, ‘Music for a Summer’s Eve’, was a celebration of a great year of excellent music-making at Hurst. A variety of ensembles took to the stage in the Inner Quad, and the audience enjoyed a delightful evening complete with champagne and strawberries to accompany the performances.
The ensembles included the Senior School Orchestra, Jazz Band, College Brass, Cello Ensemble, and String Group. Every pupil should be very proud of the level of performance they presented, especially when battling the windy conditions! Well done too to one our our Lower Sixth flautists, Amelia Ganesalingam, for performing a wonderful solo piece. Thank you to all of the pupils who performed, and to our staff and families who came to show their support at such an atmospheric evening.
For many of our musicians, this marked their final concert before leaving Hurst. We wish all of them the best in their future endeavours and encourage them to continue their musical journey. For those pupils who return to us in September, we wish them an excellent summer and look forward to seeing their confidence and skills develop further in the years to come.
