On Friday 19 and Saturday 20 May a 26-hour Music Marathon took place at Hurst College in aid of the charity, Shine.
Shine provides specialist support from before birth and throughout the life of anyone living with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus, as well as to parents, families, carers, and professional care staff. Shine enables people to get the best out of life.
Director of Drama, Luke Gasper was joined by students and staff from the College as well as some special guest performers in a challenge that saw live music played for the entirety of the event.
The clock started running at 5pm on Friday 19th and over the 26 hours, there was a variety of concerts and workshops for anyone to join in with and attend. From musical sing-a-longs, rock bands, DJ sets to late-night jazz and early-morning Bach, the New Bury Theatre at Hurst College was the main stage for the event. There was even a special appearance from student Izzy G at the Sussex Diamond League Finals.
To end the event, there was a finale concert that started late on Saturday with a cake stall, bar and sweet counter to entice an audience. Donations can still be made
