Pelican girls’ house hosted a ‘Picnic in the Park’ fundraiser event for its families last Friday evening, in aid of the Ukraine crisis. The event, which raised £2222, was a perfect opportunity for the Pelican community to come together, enjoy the activities, whilst also raising funds for a very worthy cause.
There were two inflatables, an ice cream van, a mocktail stall, a photo booth and face painting. Generous contributions for the raffle and auction were received from Pelican parents and Hurstpierpoint village shops and restaurants. These donations included a five-course meal cooked by a MasterChef winner; hampers from The Grey Works, Higgidy Family Kitchen and Pierpoint Pet Supplies; vouchers from Lavender Room, Washbrooks Farm and Morleys Bistro. There was also a painting, a showstopper cake, Gucci and Prada handbags and some delightful toiletries.
