Year 4 pupil, Khadija, took part in a competition to design a Christmas Card for local MP Andrew Griffith and was named as the winner from more than 300 entrants.
Children’s author and illustrator Andrea Prior, who inspires children to read through rhyme, chose Khadija’s Christmas card design as the winning entry because it combined the rainbow colours of the NHS – very relevant and important during these challenging times – and the happiness of Christmas. Khadija said her entry was inspired by her parents who both work for the NHS.
Andrew Griffith visited the Prep School today to present Khadija with a certificate, a book donated by Andrea Prior (who also donated one for the Library) and an amazing art box containing a whole host of colouring pencils and paints. He also told Khadija that 1,500 Christmas cards with her winning design will be printed and posted, including one to Prime Minister Boris Johnson, and will be shared online with 3,000 people.
