Following an evening of torrential rain and storms, athletes were greeted to a stunning autumn morning with blue skies, warmth and low winds. Over 75 pupils took part in this triathlon with separate races for Years 3 & 4, Years 5 & 6 and Years 7 & 8.
Parents lined the path from the car park down to the astroturf and created a wall of shouts, cheers and applause all morning, whilst consuming hundreds of pastries and hot drinks!
The races themselves were a brilliant spectacle with pupils pushing themselves extremely hard to swim, cycle and run as fast as they could to earn their KitKat at the end! This event prides itself on participation rather than competition and there are no prizes for the winners. Seeing pupils helping out their friends who were finishing their runs brought tears to many a parent’s eye. The camaraderie and community feeling was immense. We are planning a second triathlon for this year once the weather starts to heat up, watch this space!
