Over the weekend, celebrations were had at Hickstead, with the Red Cross Ball. The theme was ‘Casino Royale’ , and the house team did an excellent job with the décor. Bond posters covered the walls, and a poker table—manned by Mr Tyler—provided popular entertainment throughout the evening. The Red Cross boys and their dates were greeted at the door with mocktails, and looked forward to the night ahead.
All pupils enjoyed a delicious three-course meal, with the fabulous pork crackling stealing the show. In between courses, Mr Taylor-West handed out Bond-inspired quizzes and picture rounds, with Cadbury’s prizes to play for. Congratulations to Rufus VB and Anna D for securing the Bond Award of the night: ‘License to be Cool’. Speeches then followed, from Mr Taylor-West and House Captain, Seb L.
Following the meal, all guests took to the dance floor, enjoying the DJ’s classic disco tunes. Special mention to Zander A and Freddie S for upping the ante and getting everyone involved!
All in all, a fantastic evening for Red Cross. Thank you to all the staff who helped make the event run so smoothly, as well as to the Catering Team at Hickstead.
