Roald Dahl Day celebrations
Pupils in Years 3 and 4 celebrated Roald Dahl Day on Friday, as they arrived at school dressed in an array of inventive costumes. There were several Mr Foxes and Willy Wonkas, as well as some poised Violet Beauregardes and a fearsome crocodile.
Lessons were themed accordingly and the children started by solving some tricky Roald Dahl Maths problems. Year 3 have been reading James and the Giant Peach and the next activity for them was to compose an original story featuring a new character, a different fruit and to describe how their character achieved their dream. The children used their artistic skills to make a giant paper fruit to illustrate their work.
