On the final day of term, and with much anticipation, the Prep school watched the remote screening of the Year 3 and 4 Nativity.
Beautiful narration told the story from the kings’ point of view. The Magi were suitably regal, incorporating jewelled crowns and hooved camels into their attire – Mrs Deelman’s costume department delivered once again! The villagers, innkeepers, Herod, stable animals, Angel Gabriel and, of course, Mary and Joseph lit up the altar steps in a myriad of colour. The Year 3 pupils also looked wonderful as shepherds and angels.
Miss Bray chose a perfect selection of songs to accompany the nativity tableau and the children sang beautifully, with brave and memorable performances from soloists and small groups. No Christmas Trees was a suitable grand finale to the production, showcasing choreographed movement and lively vocals.
Although different due to restrictions, the Nativity was still a performance that evoked atmosphere and provided the children and parents with lasting memories of this special time of year.
“ None of this would have been possible without the work of the amazing technical team. With many thanks to Mr Tucker, Mr Briggs and Mr Carroll for filming, editing and producing, with great patience, a marvellous film ” Kate O’Neill, Year 4 Teacher
