Following tradition, new Shell students attended an entire day of team building activities over the border in East Sussex at Broadstone Warren Scout Camp and Activity Centre, Forest Row.
As part of the extended induction programme, an excellent itinerary was delivered by a team of dedicated instructors from Hurst’s Outdoor Education department and staff at Broadstone Warren. These instructors helped the students experience challenging activities which they had not attempted before. In the heart of the Ashdown Forest, students took on and completed the low ropes, crate challenges, leaps of faith, archery and axe throwing contests, amongst other activities.
“ There was a palpable buzz by the close of the day as students worked excellently alongside each other, building connections with those in other sets, houses and tutor groups. They strengthened the foundations from which to build upon in the weeks, months and years to come ” Simon Lilley, Head of Shell
