Over the last few weeks, the music school has hosted Hurst’s annual solo music competitions. These provided a fantastic opportunity for our talented young musicians to perform to a supportive audience, as well as an expert adjudicator. The adjudicator could then provide constructive and insightful feedback before choosing a winner from each category. This year, almost one hundred pupils courageously performed pieces from across genres and centuries. The music department would like to congratulate everyone who performed, you all did an amazing job and we look forward to hearing further musical contributions from each of you in the future. We would also like to thank all of the family, friends and staff who came along to support the performers, this really helps to make these occasions as special as they are for the pupils. Winners from each category, as chosen by the adjudicators, then performed in a celebratory winners’ concert.
