The week beginning 6 May saw the final instalment of our Informal Concert series take place. This is an excellent opportunity for our young students to build their confidence and develop their performance skills in a supportive environment with teachers, tutors and parents all invited to attend. Musicians of all abilities are encouraged to perform, and for some students this will be the first time doing so.
The first concert was performed by our Year 7 and 8 students, the second by Year 3 and 4, and the last by Years 5 and 6 musicians. These concerts showcased the promising future for our Senior School ensembles, with a wide range of instruments being learned. There were some excellent singers that will perform with the Senior School Chapel Choir and great instrumentalists for our Senior School orchestra. The concerts also highlighted the wide range of genres performed by our musicians, such as pop, musical theatre, and classical music.
A huge congratulations must go to everyone who has performed, not only this term, but throughout this academic year. Thank you to Miss Bray for organising these concerts and accompanying and thank you to everyone who has come to watch the students’ performances. Continuing to support our wonderful students, not only at concerts but also by checking if they have practiced and giving them a huge amount of support and encouragement, is invaluable to their development and confidence in music-making.
