On Sunday 25 June, five crew, Millie C, Beth R, Zach W, Arthur E, and Harry S joined Mr and Mrs Poole on a fabulously sunny, warm day with plenty of wind on the yacht at Itchenor in Chichester Harbour.
Departing Chichester harbour, they motored the short way down the river to East Head and took some time to enjoy the water for a swim. From there, they set off for a sail to Bembridge, Isle of Wight, and anchored for a tasty lunch just off Sea View.
After a BBQ lunch, they continued their trip to Portsmouth where they saw two Type 45 Daring Class Destroyers and the aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth.
They also had a short stop to enjoy tea on a mooring boy and chatted about the history of Portsmouth including Porchester Castle and Henry V mustering his army there before embarking on the crossing to France to engage in the Battle of Agincourt.
All had an opportunity to helm and learn about trimming sails, basic seamanship, and life at sea.
