The 13 March saw our wonderful music scholars to deliver an excellent concert. This concert showcased the variety of music, and the high standard of music within our department, from Shell to Upper Sixth. The concert took place in the Music School, with an audience, made up of pupils, parents and staff coming along to show their support for some brilliant music-making.
The concert featured a variety of music, from folk-pop, to musical theatre, to an array of classical repertoire, and was a chance for our music scholars to perform solo pieces of the material they have been working on so far this academic year. The evening also reflected how much the students care about delivering a high-standard performance and want the audience to enjoy their Music. It was clear to see how much effort and practice had gone into preparing the pieces for this concert – something that must not be underestimated.
What was especially impressive to see was that so many students not only truly enjoy performing, but also evidently like supporting their peers’ performances.
“ Well done to all our superb music scholars who performed, and many thanks to those who attended the performances and provided such a supportive atmosphere for those involved. ” Neil Matthews, Director of Music
