Prep pupils battle against each other and the weather for inter-house comp
As well as battling against each other, our Prep School pupils also had to battle the weather, in the annual inter-house competition, known as The Sporty One. Two new events – tennis and table tennis – were added to the mix this year, which meant pupils took part in 16 different disciplines during the afternoon, across two 50-minute sessions.
Sports coaches designed rallies and relays, assault and agility courses and ingenious challenges to involve everyone from the experienced hockey player to the novice cross-country runner. Teams were mixed across boys and girls, year groups and houses, with many team members participating in an activity for the first time.
“All pupils engaged well, coming together in torrential rain to show true Hurst spirit and an extremely warm sense of community and team spirit,” Zoe Taylor-West, Senior Housemistress.
