The U13 Netball team competed in the IAPS Netball Finals and performed extremely well, taking 2nd place! This year’s finals were hosted by Bryanston School, Dorset with over 90 schools entering and 20 schools in the final. It was a very windy day and the team adjusted to the conditions superbly.
In the group stages, Hurst played 4 games, taking wins against Gresham 6-3, Eagle House 9-4, and Farleigh 5-4. Unfortunately, the girls lost to Sedbergh 6-7, however, this was fine as the team had already won their group! The Quarter Finals saw Hurst play Highgate and take a win of 10-6, followed by the Semi-Final against Cheam which also saw the team take a win of 8-6 entering them into the finals against Copthorne.
The team had amazing teamwork and spirit and was determined to get a medal all day. The shooters shot well under pressure and the defence was relentless. Unfortunately, Hurst lost to Copthorne 1-7, but they came second nationally and were silver medallists! It was a great day for Netball in Sussex and a fantastic way to end a very successful three out of four days of National Finals.
“ Thank you to the organisers for a great day and the parents for their brilliant support. ” Bex Jutson, Assistant Director of Sport
