Four Yacht Sailing trips took place during Michaelmas term over weekends in September and October involving 16 pupils from Shell to Vth form. All the trips covered areas in the Solent from Portsmouth to Cowes, Isle of Wight with activities that included sail trimming, helming, ropework, Man-Over-Board drills and basic navigation. Crew got an excellent insight into life aboard a yacht and the thrill (wind permitting) of power and speed under sail.
