Year 5 pupils ventured over to the Observatory Science Centre at Herstmonceux to learn about all things ‘Space and Earth’. The day involved an exciting array of interactive games and activities, plus a visit to see a real telescope up close. This proved to be extremely popular amongst the pupils.
They also participated in several workshops throughout the day. ‘Robot Arms’ was of particular interest. This allowed students to use a robot that replicates the Canadian arm robot used at the International Space Station.
A visit to the Destination Space Show was a fitting finish for a great day. This experience taught the pupils about how astronauts live in space, including the basics such as eating and sleeping.
