The first informal concert of the Lent term was hosted in the Music School this week. The Informal concerts are a great opportunity for musicians in years 7 and 8 to perform in a supportive, low-pressure environment. There were a wide variety of musical styles on display, from hard rock to Latin jazz to classical.
The performance started with the prep school Jazz Band performing a blues by Sarah Watts, followed by Sophie playing trumpet, Fleur on violin, Maisie with bassoon, Amanda at the piano, Emily on French Horn, and Evangeline and Sophie performing a piano duet by Kevin Olson. Thomas W then gave his first-ever public performance on drums, followed by Edward on trombone, Oscar with the flute, Ciara playing violin, and a final blast from the Jazz Band to finish the programme.
Parents and teachers were thoroughly entertained by an afternoon of excellent and courageous musical performances, capped off with a well-earned slice of cake afterward!

Most of all, we would like to thank and congratulate all of the performers who put on an excellent display of fine, musical work. ” Ross Dickson, Graduate Music Assistant
